Minecraft Houses – Image Spotlight #2

When it comes to Minecraft Houses, there is certainly no shortage of them.  I thought I would try a different format of Video and Images to show off two different people in one post.  Let’s jump right into today’s spotlight and show a video creation by Youtube user 2seekingsatori, she built a great house on a sever, which takes a lot of work if you’re on a server.

Be sure to subscribe to her if you’re not already.  She has some great content and is very creative.  If you’ve seen this video already, it’s worth another look for inspiration.

The Minecraft House Image Spotlight brings us to a WordPress Blogger (BenneyBoy444) who decided to move his blog to Tumblr for ease of use.  Let’s show off some of the images he has done.

As you can see, it’s nothing huge, but it has potential.  He does have larger buildings and is worth a look, but for now, we’re going to show off the inside of the house.

I hope you enjoyed the Minecraft Houses in this edition of Image Spotlight.  There is sure to be something there for the creative inspiration.  Be sure to go check out the users who created these interesting and grand houses.

Huge Minecraft Structures – Image Spotlight

Nothing beats Huge Minecraft Structures, the shear size and effort put into them makes them worth while.  In this weeks Image Spotlight, we’ll be looking at a few structures by Minecraft Builders.  They’re sure to please.

Minecraft players love building Huge structures of movie objects.  These are no different.  When it comes to the classic Star Wars Destroyer, you can’t get much better than this one by Flickr user Condor.

Everyone seems to love building on the Darkside.  If you’ve got images of The X Wing in Minecraft that you’d like to share, then please give us a shout at our email address….minetweeps@gmail.com

We can’t forget the epic Murder Machine now can we?  This massive mob spawner looks great.  Obviously a lot of time and effort went into this one.  Kind of makes you want to go build your own.  Images for this one belong to PKMousie.

Below is an awesome Sand Structure that was built by Zanshinretsu.  If you’re like me, then you love a great sand structure.  Building with Sandstone can be a lot of fun, especially when you find combinations that work well together.

What kind of huge Minecraft structures have you built lately?  Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter @minetweeps and be sure to catch Friday’s Lets Play where we’ll be featuring a Hard Core lets play series.

Minecraft Updates – minetweeps issue 1

Minecraft Updates are a lot more fun on video, although a few of you might disagree.  In the latest addition of Minecraft news, Jeb delves into the new camera rotation which is going to make lets play series much more interesting.  He also revealed his favorite game.  Be sure to check out the video below.

Here at minetweeps, we’ll be adding content on a weekly basis, however, you’ll notice that the Monday News/Update post is a little late.  I spent the weekend at my Cousin’s house and had a 21st Birthday for a friend of ours.  Came home yesterday and got occupied.  Yep, I’ve got no viable excuse for a late post, so here it is.

We’re going to continue with the regular Monday, Wednesday, and Friday posting, however, we’re looking for ideas on what to do during the rest of the week.  If you’re not sure what we’re about yet, be sure to check out the about section at the top, or check the links below to read other other post.

Friday’s Lets Play – Adventures With TFLAT

And we can’t forget the Wednesday Image Showcasing – Going Underground In Minecraft

If you’re looking for a great Minecraft Seed to play on, this one doesn’t get any better.  With a located Stronghold, some Mob Spawners, 2 NPC villages close by, as well as some Jungle.  If you’re looking for an epic Mountainous Jungle, it’s all here.  Be sure to check out the video and I’ve even wrote down the Seed for you so you don’t have to.

And just for kicks, I think I’ll throw in a favorite quote.  Sense this blog is going to be reader driven, feel free to share your favorite quotes with the rest of us.

“Its Not The Fall That Kills You, Its The Sudden Stop At The Bottom!”

Check back later for more Minecraft Updates.  We’re always updating the blog and it’s ever growing.  Minetweeps, where the readers count.

Going Up in Minecraft?

What is it about going up in Minecraft that attracts so many players?  Many players always build upwards, some even go as far as reaching the limits of the sky.  Perhaps it’s the thrill of looking downward upon the world as far as you can see?  Building upward is perhaps one way to test your building creativity.

No matter how you look at it, most Minecraft players will build up.  Some build up and out, while others build tree houses and spires.  It doesn’t matter which way you’re going, as long as you’re going up.  I thought I would highlight colmmcsky’s Photostream again for this reason.

When it comes to Spires, what better way to test the heights of Minecraft?  While this particular Spire is basic, it’s far from basic.  It’s well spaced and fits together nicely.

The latest version of Minecraft tripled the maximum height that you can build up to, so I decided to make a spire.

We all love a good Tree House no matter where it is.  These are always fun to build and make you feel like a kid again.  You can never go wrong building in the top of the tallest trees in Minecraft.

In both images, the visual appeal of going up in Minecraft is easy to see.  No matter what you decided to build, you can always place a swimming pool at the bottom to jump into.  Again, in case you missed it, here is the link to colmmcsky’s Photostream.

Be sure to stay tuned for the next blog post and don’t forget to follow us on twitter @minetweeps.  The next blog post we do will be a Minecraft Lets Play.

Going Underground in Minecraft

When you’re going underground in Minecraft, what’s the first thing you do?  Some people like to dig straight down, while others take a more staircase like path.  Yet still, others like to make long wide paths, while some do narrow paths.  When I play, I generally make narrow paths, although I’m trying to make wider paths.  Leave a comment if you agree that wider paths look cooler and cleaner.

As mentioned before, there are multiple methods of going downward.  Staircases seem to be growing ever popular.  In the image below, the creator built a straight staircase down into the Library.  While spiral staircases can be fun, a well built staircase of any kind will look good.

Ravines can make a cool place to make a fortress.  Tons of resources are usually available with coal, iron, and many times even gold.  While it’s a neat idea to make a fortress in a Ravine, they’re a lot more fun to just explore.  The larger the Ravine, the better they generally are.

Minecraft 1.8 is out, it has some cool new underground features!

Whether you’re going underground in Minecraft, or just looking for resources, either way you’ll eventually have to go underground.  There are tons of resources that can’t be found above ground and chances are, you’ll have to fight for some of them.  Be sure to go prepared.

Lets Play Minecraft Adventures With TFLAT part one

In the Lets Play Minecraft series, there is an ever growing number of players that choose to upload their Lets Play videos.  I decided to try a little something different in my series.  Instead of doing a full onslaught commentary, I thought I’d just shorten it down to the length of a song.

In this manor, I get to highlight the moments of the days work, without boring people to death.  I mean, seriously, who wants to sit there and watch people dig a Mineshaft all the way down to bedrock?  Hopefully, by changing it up a bit and only highlighting certain moments, you’ll actually be able to watch it.

What Is Minecraft?

What Is Minecraft?

Minecraft is a sandbox game that is playable in both Solo, or Multiplayer modes. There are several different modes in Minecraft actually, Creative and Hard Core modes are also included. By now, you might be wondering what exactly is a Sandbox Game?

A Sandbox Game is simply a game that has no central quest line. In other words, it’s not story driven. Most games have a story to drive the player further into the action. Sandbox Games don’t, they merely exist to please players. They allow you to go out, do what you want, and not have to worry about a quest line for a change. It’s a way to relax and just enjoy the moment. Minecraft certainly has plenty of them.

What is it that drives players to Minecraft? There are plenty of Mobs for you to kill as well as plenty of resources to build. The creative aspect of Minecraft has drawn many players to it alone. There are groups of players who dedicate themselves to rebuilding real world monuments in Minecraft, as well as numerous fictional worlds. This is one of those games where you can literally say, “There are endless possibilities.”

Spiders, Skeletons, and Creepers OH MY! You guessed it, there are plenty of monsters to kill, or what we refer to as mobs. There are different categories of mobs as well, they are listed below:

Passive mobs will never attack the player. All passive mobs require land and light to spawn on, except for Squids.

Cat, Chicken, Cow, Mooshroom, Ocelot, Pig, Sheep, Squid, and Villager.

Neutral mobs will not attack the player unless provoked. The act of provoking neutral mobs varies between mobs.

Enderman, Wolf, Zombie Pigman

Hostile mobs will attack the player when in range. Spiders may become neutral, but they do not spawn neutral.

Blaze, Cave Spider, Creeper, Ghast, Magma Cube, Silverfish, Skeleton, Slime, Spider, Spider Jockey, Zombie

Utility mobs are created by the player, usually for defense purposes.

Iron Golem, Snow Golem

Boss mobs have more complicated attack patterns and movements.

Ender Dragon

As you can see, the mob list is a decent one, with more on the way. The fun doesn’t stop there, with the amount of things you can create with redstone and pistons, the possibilities become even more. Redstone allows you to create powered circuits that may be used to open doors, traps, and stair cases. With these power sources, the fun never ends.

We can’t leave out Enchanting and Biomes. Yes, you can enchant weapons and armor in Minecraft to make them stronger. Unfortunately, bookshelves are needed for enchanting. The more bookshelves you have, the higher level enchanting you can work. The armor enchantments you can get are: Protection, Fire Protection, Feather Falling, Blast Protection, Projectile Protection, Respiration, and Aqua Affinity. The weapon enchantments are for the two types of weapons, Sword and Bow. Sword is as follows: Sharpness, Smite, Bane of Arthropods, Knockback, Fire Aspect, and Looting. While the Bow is as follows: Power, Punch, Flame, and Infinity.

Biomes are merely a way to separate the terrain in the game. Biomes currently include: Forest, Desert, Plains, Swamp, Jungle, Tundra, Taiga, Mountain, Ocean, and Mushroom. There are smaller, Technical Biomes that are included in the larger ones. These include: River, Beach, Mushroom Shore, Frozen Ocean, Mountain Edge, Hills, and Basin.

So, What Is Minecraft? Basically, what ever you choose to make it. It’s your world, be creative. I will say that there are future plans to add Adventure and Capture The Flag modes. Adventure mode will make creative Adventure Maps much easier. As a final note, Adventure Maps are player made maps that allow you to take on quest and different adventures. If you’re not playing Minecraft yet, you should be.
